The file of letters from Paris

It is time to look at a set of letters that have been tucked away in a bottom drawer for a long time.

They have been in an envelope since the late 1980's, bound with string and passed on to me by my Mom before she died.

They are my letters to my mother who was living in Howick, South Africa, written from a home we were renting in Marly le Roi, a village to the west of Paris, nestled between Versailles and St Germain en Laye.

The letters span a period between July 1986 and October 1987.

I am living in France, a young mother with two babies, learning a new language, grappling with being away from South Africa and loving exploring everything French.

Or at least I think I was, it will be interesting to read these letters again after almost 3 decades.

This is going to be my summer blogging project to meet my 30 year old self living in France.
